Are you currently studying for a Bachelors degree or a Masters in a subject relevant to Software Engineering, and looking for a placement opportunity?
Our fantastic Software Engineer Graduate Programme is a combined Year-in-Industry and Graduate programme, offering you vital experience working on complex real-world projects, paid employment through your studies and a great route into a rewarding & promising long-term career.
The scheme has three phases:
Phase One - You work full-time for 12 months in one of our multi-disciplinary development teams, while going through a comprehensive training programme.
Phase Two - You work part-time around your studies while you complete your degree, working on the same projects you were in your first 12 months and in the same team.
Phase Three - You join ONS as a permanent employee following completion of your degree, and from the following April can apply for promotion opportunities!
Assuming all goes well, by the time you complete your degree you've already got 2 years' experience working in a highly technically advanced, professional technical environment for a major enterprise. You can see why we're so proud of it!
We do not expect you to be expert in anything, but we do want enthusiastic people who are keen to learn what it’s like to be a software professional in the real world. Perhaps you manage your own open source projects, have developed a mobile app or coded on a Raspberry Pi.
We can help you to develop those skills further. You will work on an existing project or programme where you will be coached and helped to become a fully-contributing member of our team for the duration of your placement.
