What you’ll learn on the Data and Analytics Industrial Placement
Day to day, you’ll be based in one of our key teams for the duration of your placement, where you’ll develop an in-depth understanding of what they do and how they make a positive difference to our business and customers. These teams could be:
- Data Science and AI
- Data Engineering
- Data and Analytics Strategy
- Business Intelligence and Analytics
- Data Management and Ethics
- Data Privacy and Records Management.
Working in partnership with colleagues across the business, you’ll enhance your collaboration as well as your data skills. And because our reach across our Group is so extensive, there’s the potential to see your impact play out on a global scale. All while building a profile, making connections and developing the in-depth understanding you need to forge the data career you want.
The work you could be doing
- Using market-leading analytics platforms and visualization software to make best use of our vast wealth of data
- Harnessing advanced cloud technology and generative AI to reimagine how we use data to solve problems
- Building innovative self-service solutions to analyse and visualise data
- Providing critical insight for decision making and contribute towards Helping Britain Prosper
Is this for you?
What you need to apply
You should be in your penultimate year of university during the placement dates. It would also be a plus if you're familiar with data analysis or data management, have great numerical ability and a passion for learning.
Locations
South West (Bristol & Cardiff), West Yorkshire (Halifax & Leeds) & Edinburgh. You’ll select one of these locations and be based there throughout your programme. Places are limited, so if you’re willing to consider locations other than the one you’ve selected tell us on your application. For many of our office-based colleagues, we work in a hybrid way, which involves collaborating in the office at least two days per week.
Closing date
The closing date for applications is 15th December. Our industrial placement programmes may close early if we receive a high number of applications, so it’s best to apply as soon as you can.
