Commercial set at the forefront of construction, energy and infrastructure law at the Bar.

Who We Are

Atkin Chambers is a commercial set of Chambers at the forefront of construction, energy and infrastructure law at the Bar. Members are globally renowned for what they do and work on some of the biggest, most complex disputes across the world.

Disputes are extremely varied and include transport, power, shipbuilding and offshore construction, and social infrastructure projects. Wider commercial and professional negligence work is frequently related to such disputes. Around half our work has an international component and from the earliest stage in their careers, members have the opportunity to explore an international dimension to their practice.

Clients rely on barristers at Atkin to provide commercially-focused advice to ensure the right solutions and the best possible outcomes to their disputes.

Moreover, our members are advocates. They regularly appear in the Business, Property and Appellate Courts, and in many international arbitral forums. Beyond courts and tribunals, our members advise on and advocate in mediations, adjudications and public inquiries.

The purpose of pupillage is to teach our pupils the skills needed to become successful members of Chambers in all of these areas. We aim to do this by ensuring pupils are exposed to the wide variety of work which comes into Chambers and by offering the chance to learn from established and experienced practitioners and practice managers.

Chambers’ continued success depends on maintaining the reputation for excellence for which its members are known. To this end, we are committed to recruiting the best candidates for pupillage and supporting them throughout the year so that they reach their full potential.
